Demand
side management involve load forecasting, load scheduling, and load management.
Generally load forecasting can be classified as short, medium and long term.
Proper approach shall be to integrate all three types of forecasting. The short
term load forecasting has become more important for deregulated scenario due to
on line transmission dispatch (real time or one day ahead). Numbers of
techniques have been developed using neural net and fuzzy logic approach at
I.I.T.K. One of the objectives of the projects shall be to develop the software
simulator for load forecasting. This software shall be integrated with load
scheduling and load management software code, which would be responsible for
developing strategies for flat load demand curves.
Further development of a software code for Transmission
Dispatch for assisting independent operators to buy and sell electricity form a
pool of generation and distribution
companies shall be carried out.
